ADVANCED TECHNIQUES

In my osteopathy practice, I offer a wide range of specialised treatments to improve the well-being and health of my clients. Each treatment is designed to address the specific needs of each individual, using advanced techniques and a personalised approach.

Fluidic Osteopathy

Fluidic Osteopathy originated in France (in the mid-1980s) from an Osteopath-Kinesiologist, M.R. Poyet. It differs from "classic" osteopathy in that it does not act structurally on different parts of the body but communicates with the body itself through very light vibrational stimulations (as Poyet described it), like a butterfly landing on a flower.

In practice, it can be defined as a HOMEOPATHIC OSTEOPATHY.

The basic principle that characterises this method is to conceive the body as a unified whole.

It reacts globally to imbalances, which is why every part, every cell, is informed about what happens in a single area.

The session is based on “light movements” that indicate to the body how to remove existing blockages.

This aspect is very important because it encourages the person to understand that bodily manifestations are a response to the daily management of stress.

Biointegrated Medicine

It is based on a global or holistic concept of the human being.

Human health consists of three elements:

  • Psychological-Mental
  • Morphological-Structural
  • Biochemical-Functional

These three components determine the so-called "HEALTH TRIANGLE."

Any manifestation, wherever it arises, on one of the three sides of the triangle, always affects the other two.

Biointegrated medicine employs various disciplines that, when combined, allow for a comprehensive evaluation of the causes that have led to the problem and uses natural products (as well as manual techniques) to address these situations.

Moxibustion

It is a very ancient technique (dating back up to 4500 years).

The treatment involves applying heat to specific points on the body to improve energy circulation.

Heat, as a therapeutic principle, is most effective when the source is small but intense, and when its application is more localised, for example on acupuncture points, whose properties have been known for millennia.

The most practical and widespread method in the East for applying moxa is the use of an artemisia stick.

When incandescent, artemisia emits heat from 500 to 600°C and an infrared spectrum, which has proven to be highly effective therapeutically. The artemisia stick, held at a safe distance from the skin to avoid burning, does not produce any inconvenience and leaves no trace.

By applying it directly to the problematic area (e.g., cervical issues or a bruise) or to specific acupuncture points (indicated for the treatment of that particular issue), the correct energy balance of the body is restored.

Bioenergetic Myofascial Technique

The network that connects various muscles and their integrated and continuous functionality is called the FASCIA.

FASCIAL INDUCTION is a technique that is part of manual therapies, focused on restoring the altered function of the fascial tissue.

It involves sending a message through pressure on a specific point in the blocked area, encouraging it to release.

The response is not always immediate, as one must wait for the body to metabolise it.

This technique does not only work at a muscular level, dissolving the tensions that develop, but also acts at a deeper level, influencing organs and viscera, and even at an emotional level.

Foot and Hand Reflexology

Foot reflexology is a practice derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The founder of modern reflexology as a discipline is considered to be William H. Fitzgerald, the American physician who, in 1872, realised that by applying pressure to certain parts of the body, he could perform minor procedures on the nose and throat without the need for anaesthesia. He then began to chart a longitudinal map of the human body, from the fingers of the hands and feet to the top of the head.

The reflexology theory is based on the principle that all functions and organs of the human body are reflected in various zones of the foot or hand. This technique operates in three main areas: CONGESTION, INFLAMMATION, AND TENSION. Through specific stimulation of precise points on the foot or hand, it stimulates the body's natural self-healing process. This type of massage, in addition to being balancing, also produces a valuable relaxing effect that positively impacts elevated stress levels.

REIKI

Reiki, which has its roots in Tibetan Buddhism, is a technique rediscovered in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui around the end of the 19th century.

The term Reiki comes from the combination of two words, Rei and Ki, meaning “universal life energy.”

Through the use of this energy, harmony is restored on four levels: spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical.

Reiki is based on the stimulation of points called Chakras, a word derived from Sanskrit meaning “wheel” or “vortex.” There are over three thousand points on the body where these centres are identified, but only seven are recognised as the primary ones and therefore treated by Reiki. They are positioned both anteriorly and posteriorly and absorb energy from the universe.

Applied Kinesiology

It uses muscle testing to identify and treat dysfunctions and imbalances in the body.

It is the art of muscle testing as a method to communicate with the human organism. Each muscle is associated with a visceral organ or an acupuncture meridian.

By applying force to a muscle (appropriately selected according to the problem to be addressed), the force reaches the brain, which processes it and provides a response related to the existing issue.

If the problem is present (for example, an energy imbalance at the level of the identified organ), the muscle weakens; conversely, if no problem exists, the muscle remains strong.
